16-Port Rack-Mount Gigabit PoE Surge Protector (1U)

PF-SPD-RACK16-GE is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mount surge protector for 16 Ethernet lines. It goes in the network rack next to the switch, like a patch panel: each cable that comes in from outside — cameras on the perimeter, access points in other buildings — plugs into the front, and a short patch cable runs from the matching port to the switch. One ground wire from the panel to the rack's earth bar protects all 16 switch ports at once.

Each line passes 10/100/1000 Mbps and 48 V PoE, so a PoE switch can keep powering the cameras and access points through the panel. It is the right protector when many outdoor cables end at one switch: protecting them at the rack costs far less than replacing a 16- or 24-port PoE switch after a storm.
