Three-Phase Distribution-Board Surge Protector, 4-Pole 40 kA

PF-SPD-AC-3PH is a surge protector for a three-phase distribution board: a 4-pole module (three lines and neutral) that clips onto the DIN rail and connects to the earth bar. Most Thai schools and factories take a three-phase supply into the main board, and that is the place to stop a surge coming in from the power lines before it spreads to every building and circuit behind it.

Each pole is rated 385 V maximum continuous voltage, 20 kA nominal and 40 kA maximum discharge current (8/20 µs), with a voltage protection level of 1.8 kV or less, as printed on the module (model LYD2-C40, made to the Chinese GB 18802.1 standard for surge protective devices). A window on each pole shows its state. Installation in a distribution board must be done by a qualified electrician, with a breaker in front of the protector as the board's design requires. For a single-phase board, use PF-SPD-AC-1PH.
