Description
PF-SFP1G-SX is a 1000BASE-SX SFP transceiver for multimode fiber. It runs at 1.25 Gbps on 850 nm, terminates in an LC duplex connector, reports DDM readings, is rated for 0–70 °C, and reaches 550 m over OM3 fiber.
It suits 1G fiber links inside a building, or to a nearby building, over the multimode fiber that is already installed, and it is equivalent to OEM parts such as Cisco GLC-SX-MMD, Huawei SFP-GE-SX-MM850, H3C SFP-GE-SX-MM850-A, Aruba J4858D and Juniper EX-SFP-1GE-SX. The EEPROM is coded for Cisco, Huawei, H3C, Aruba, Juniper, Ruijie or MikroTik before shipping, so tell us the switch model when ordering.
SX is multimode only. The 550 m figure applies to 50/125 µm fiber such as OM2 and OM3; older 62.5/125 µm OM1 cable gives a noticeably shorter reach, and single-mode fiber will not work at all — use PF-SFP1G-LX for that. Both ends of the link must be SX modules, and if the same route may need 10G later, plan for PF-SFP10G-SR, which uses the same multimode fiber and LC connectors. Warranty is 3 years.
