10GBASE-ER SFP+ 1550nm 40km SMF

PF-SFP10G-ER is a 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver for long single-mode spans. It runs at 10.3 Gbps on 1550 nm, terminates in an LC duplex connector, reports DDM readings, is rated for 0–70 °C, and reaches 40 km over single-mode fiber.

It is used for inter-site links — campus to campus, or a main site to an off-site data centre — where a 10 km LR module falls short, and it is equivalent to OEM parts such as Cisco SFP-10G-ER and Huawei OSX040N01. The EEPROM is coded for Cisco, Huawei, H3C, Aruba, Juniper, Ruijie or MikroTik before shipping, so tell us the switch model when ordering.

An ER module transmits much harder than an LR module, so on a short span the far-end receiver can be overloaded: work out the link budget first and fit a fixed optical attenuator if the received power sits above the receiver maximum. Both ends must be ER modules on single-mode fiber, and the DDM power readings on both switches are the quickest way to confirm the span is inside its budget. Warranty is 3 years.
